Huskies
vs. Trojans
If
there ever was a time for a bend but no break defense for the Huskies
it would have to be this Saturday down on Mountlake against #3 USC
Trojans. USC comes to Mountlake not only with one of best offensive
lines in the nation but {5} talented running backs {Mcknight,
Johnson, Bradford, Tyler, Gable} that could all easy go in the
top 3 rounds in the NFL draft. For the Huskies offense it comes
down to Quarterback Jake Locker {42-70-574 yds. 5 td.-1 int}
. Locker must not only stay poised, but also fearless against the
Trojans defensive attack. The Husky offense needs to stay away from
many three-and-outs. The Huskies are #1 in the nation on 3rd down
conversions at 66.7%. Husky running-back Chris Polk {40 car,-170
yds. 4.3 yds, -1 td} must continue to run the football well for
positive gaines if the Huskies expect to beat the Trojans. The USC
defense will try to take away the Husky running game and force Locker
to make plays with his arm and legs. The Huskies defense will try
to also force the Freshman USC Quarterback Matt Barkley {
30-50-428 yds.- 1td-1 int} to throw the ball even with all those
talented running backs . Stacking the box should be a must for the
Huskies defense. Huskies must force Barkley out the pocket with
his tender knee. Eventhough the Huskies lost to LSU out the gate
this year this game against USC this Saturday should not be a shocker
on the talent they will face on the field. Huskies Quarterback Jack
Locker must make plays and help milk the clock down while USC offense
watching on the sidelines. If the Huskies get careless with the
football with tournovers look for USC to capitalize each and everytime.
Tournovers belong in a bakery not on the turf for the [U]niversity
of [S]poiled [C]hildren{USC} to capitalize WOOF!
