Wednesday, June 4, 2008 2008 NBA Finals Preview Lakers - Celtics preview If the Celtics want to avoid losing to the Lakers, or get swept in this years NBA finals, they must start by doing a few things. For one the Celtics must start off the first two games in Boston with better starts. Starting off slow against the Lakers could cost them the crown. Ray Allen has had only a couple of good games so far in this years playoffs. Allen has not found his shot early in most games, and that has cost the Celtics to grind out series leading up to the Finals. Celtics star Kevin Garnett cannot fall in love with his outside shot so much, that he will forget to attack the rack. The bright spot for the Celtics has been the play of Kendrick Perkins. Perkins must stay out of foul trouble on Gasol. The Celtics need Perkins on the floor also to take care of some of the dirty work. Point guard Rasha Rondo must get the Celtics offense flowing in the have court. Too many times we have seen the Celtics players throw-up some wild shot while the shot clock is running down. Bad half court sets ,and having to many times depending on Celtics Paul Pierce to bail the Celtics out in the half-court. Pau Gasol has been a big fitting piece for the Lakers this year. In this years playoffs we have seen Gasol score at will at times, but also we have seen Gasol shut down Carlos Boozer, and win the battle on Tim Duncan defensively .The Bench mob for the Lakers know there roles, and have played at a very high level all year long. Allen, Pierce and Posey will try and contain Kobe. Good luck Allen, Pierce and Posey, you will have your hands very full with alot of fouls quickly that will join you trifectly when trying to stop the{MVP}Air-Kobe,and his Kobe-Nairs! Even if your not a Lakers fan you must respect what they have done all year. The Lakers have a solid team all around thanks to Pau Gasol ,and what he brings to the table. If the Lakers can steal a win in Beantown in game {1},or{2}this series to me{Dre206},will only go five games . The team that first wins on the road, will win this series, and Finals.
