Is Jerramy Stevens a Loser?
Hawks beat the Raiders 16-0, but is Jerramy Stevens a loser? Even
though the Seattle Seahawks beat the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night
Football 16-0, the game ended with a bad taste. That bad taste was
Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens, who had no right to be kneed
in the groin by Raiders defensive lineman Tyler Brayton, causing
Brayton to be ejected minutes before the game ended. Stevens had
received a 15 yard personal foul penalty called against him earlier
because he decided to Jaw Jack [taunt], and mini head butt Raider
defensive back Schweigert in the first half. A few plays later,
after the 15 yard penalty, Stevens dropped a sure touchdown thrown
by Quarterback Seneca Wallace.
Under-achieves,
talks and never backs its it up, cant handle the pressure,
dirty player, and drop balls. Those are the label words that
Seahawks tight end Stevens has put himself in position to be called.
Remember it was Stevens who was talking it up days before the Superbowl
XL with Steelers Linebacker Jerry Porter. Stevens had three big
dropped balls in Superbowl XL. If Stevens catches those balls in
the Superbowl, the Hawks would have been in great position to win
the big game. Instead, the Seahawks lose Superbowl XL 21-10. Stevens
had a break-out year in 2005 leading up to the Superbowl, with 45
receptions for 554 yards and 5 touchdowns. Before his break out
year in 2005, Stevens first three years in the NFL where a disappointment,
including a 6 catch for 72 yards in the whole 2003 season [played
all 16 games]. Stevens was a first round [28th overall] pick by
the Seahawks in 2002 draft. Jerramy Stevens needs not too talk or
taunt, and let his game do all the talking for him! Talking, and
dropping is a bad combo when it comes to the NFL.
If Stevens continues
to talk and drop, and get 15 yard penalties, not only will Stevens
be with a different team, he will soon also be finding himself watching
games during the football season on Sundays in his cabin up at Lake
Stevens, and listing to music like Cat Stevens!
